Ruth O. Carpenter, age 63, of Pipe Creek Rd., Bellaire, Ohio, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at Shadyside Care Center, Shadyside, OH. She was born May 18, 1940 at Pipe Creek, Bellaire, daughter of the late Chalmer L. and Elizabeth L. Berry Ramsay.

She was a former employee at Van Dyne?s Restaurant at Dilles Bottom, OH and former school bus driver for Shadyside Schools; a member of the First Christian Church at Shadyside and attended the Jacobsburg Bible Church.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Berry Ramsay.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry N. Carpenter; a daughter, Jackie Lynn Turkoly of Pipe Creek; two sons, David Carpenter of Tupelo, Mississippi and Roger Carpenter of Wheeling, West Virginia; a brother, Shelley Ramsay of Pipe Creek; and a granddaughter, Colby Turkoly.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2003 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Richard Mehl officiating. Burial will follow at the Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
