Ruth Elizabeth Campbell, 78, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died June 16, 2023, peacefully at home, with her daughters by her side.

She was born December 5, 1944, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, and grew up in Shadyside, a daughter of the late Nancy Ruth Miller Trigg and George F. Trigg.

Ruth was a retired SSI case worker for Belmont County Job and Family Services.  She was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the kitchen for events and went on mission trips. She also was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter in Bellaire.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Campbell; a son, Chad C. Campbell; and a brother, George Trigg.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Cara (Jeff) Dragan and Heather Campbell (Mike Hurt); 11 grandchildren, T.J. Adams (Amanda), Taylor Clark (Wayne), Sara Duarte (Ash), Katie Dragan, Brooke Adams, Eliana, Lily, and Aiden Bales, and Logan Swetz; 6 great grandchildren, Natalie, Addison, Thomas, Chad, Ella, and Rosie.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dave St. Aubin officiating. The burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
