Rosalie G. Brocklehurst Utter, 96, of Moundsville, West Virginia, died Friday, April 27, 2018 in Mound View Health Care Center.
She was born in Warnock, Ohio on January 22, 1922, daughter of the late Arthur Brocklehurst and Fanny Turton Brocklehurst formerly of Sheffield, England.
Rosalie was a retired employee of U.S. Stamping Company during World War II. She was an active member, choir member, Sunday school teacher and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Moundsville; a life member and past president of West Virginia Garden Club and superintendent of the flower show at Marshall County Fair and she was a volunteer at Reynolds Memorial Hospital for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold S. Utter; two brothers, John "Jack" and Frederick Brocklehurst; and five sisters, Winifred Fader, Dorothy Parish, Lillian Duvall, Hazel Brocklehurst and Phyllis Weaver.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Utter of Arlington, Virginia; her brother, David Brocklehurst of Warnock; special friends, Lorie and Roger Hubbs and Roberta Underdonk all of Moundsville; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 4 th at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, 1000 3 rd St., Moundsville, WV with Rev. Timothy Wilt officiating. Private interment was held in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
