Ronald R. Pitner Sr., 78, of Lloydsville, Ohio died Monday, May 4, 2015 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.

He was born in Duncanwood, Ohio on July 21, 1936, son of the late Steve and Zelma Bost Pitner.

He was a retired brick and block mason, working for F.H. Vincenzo and Son Construction and for many years was self-employed. Ron was a member of the NRA and enjoyed fishing, hunting, outdoors and cars. He was a great joke teller and was a caring husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Jane Gaines Pitner; his granddaughter, Heather Dawn Wesley; a great granddaughter Chyra McGuire; nine brothers and sisters, Andrew, Steve, Virginia, Doris, William, Jack, Ramona, Duane and George.

Surviving are his daughter, Christine Anne Wesley of St. Clairsville; his son, Ronald (Marybeth) Pitner Jr. of Colerain; five grandchildren, Jesse Pitner, Audrey Pitner, Justin Pitner, Ryan Pitner and Cody Wesley; several great grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita Zeroski of Adena.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday with Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lafferty, Ohio.
