BECKETT, Ronald L., 72, of Powhatan Point, died August 6, 2013 at home.
He was born September 29, 1940 in Jacobsburg, son of the late Charles Glenn "Rube" Beckett and Evelyn Elizabeth Blon Beckett.
Ron was a retired coal miner for North American Coal Powhatan # 3 Mine. He enjoyed raising birds, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Tom, Bill, Jim and Ralph.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Muravsky Beckett; 4 children, David L. Beckett, Kenneth Beckett, Ron Beckett and Karen Palmer; 4 grandchildren, Justin McMasters, Kristopher Palmer, Ryan Beckett and Jacey Palmer;5 brothers, Glenn, George, Jerry, Gregg and Clyde; and 5 sisters, Sara, Joyce, Brenda, Marsha and Shirley.
At Ron's request there will be no public services. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg was entrusted with the arrangements.
