Roger Bruce Herbert, Sr., 62, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born April 26, 1955 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late William Reed Herbert and Mollie A. Holloway Herbert.
Roger was a former machinist for Detroit Diesel of Cambridge and a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandpap, an avid outdoorsman, he loved coon hunting, guitar playing, music and NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Donald Herbert.
Surviving are his wife, Michelle Luyster Herbert; five children, Dana (Lucian) Anderson of Culloden, WV, Roger (Melanie) Herbert, Jr. of Dillonvale, Candace (Jared) Greenwood of St. Clairsville, Clorisa (Scott) Tanner II of Belmont, and Amber Luyster of St. Clairsville; sisters, Carolyn Smith of Bethesda and Nancy Stack of Belmont; 6 grandchildren, Lane, Trevor, Adler, Madison, Caitlyn, and Jessica; and his beloved cat, Fuzznuts.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
