Rodney Dean Hines, 59, of Pomeroy, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Ohio Health Doctors Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.  He was born July 1, 1966 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of Gary Gene Hines of Oakland Park, Florida and Deanna Dee Durbin Hines of Pomeroy. 

 Rodney was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union 650 and The River of Life Church in Rutland, Ohio.  He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.  He loved watching the races and tractor pulls with family and friends. 

 He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul D. Hines. 

 Surviving are his parents, Gary G. Hines of Oakland Park, Florida, Deanna D. Hines of Pomeroy, Ohio; a brother, Antonio "Tony" (Susan) Hines of Maynard, Ohio; a niece, Alexis Hines of Cincinnati, Ohio. 

 Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, Ohio from 12 pm until time of funeral services at 4 pm with Pastor Jeff Lewis officiating.  Following cremation, burial will be in Jacobsburg Cemetery at the convenience of the family. 

 A memorial service will be held at the River of Life Church in Rutland, Ohio on Saturday, February 7, 2026 with visitation from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. 

 Memorial contributions may be made to River of Life Church or Maynard United Methodist Church.
