Obituary
Robert J. "Bob" Thompson, 72, of North Canton, Ohio, died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
He was born May 12, 1942 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late James R. and Naomi Hawkins Thompson.
Bob was a retired meteorologist from the National Weather Service. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of Flushing United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his sister, Patricia (Phil) Whitehouse of St. Clairsville; two nieces, Sue (Phil) Lewton of Valley Grove and Amy Whitehouse of St. Clairsville; a nephew, Jon (Amy Beazley) Whitehouse of St. Clairsville; a great nephew, Jack Lewton; and a few cousins.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., and again on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of services at Noon, with Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Flushing.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter, 45244 National Rd., St. Clairsville, OH 43950.
