Robert Alan "Herbie" Schwender, 62, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died June 3, 2020 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born July 21, 1957 in Martins Ferry, Ohio a son of Mary Hutchison Schwender Yeager and the late Arthur Schwender.
Herbie was a former Concrete Truck Driver. He was a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church and formerly served as a Deacon at Martins Ferry First Christian Church and was a youth ministry bus driver. His interests and hobbies included: being an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, bowling, and sports.
Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Cheryl Lemal Schwender; two daughters, Jennifer Schwender (Brian) McMillen and Melanie Jo (Galley) Rogers; five granddaughters, Emma, Lillie, Claire, Iris and Allysum; his mother and step-father, Mary and Charles Yeager; two sisters, Debbie (Rob) Murphy and Linda (Bob) Mayhugh; two brothers, Arthur "Artie" (Lori) Schwender and Ralph Schwender; brother-in-law, Rich Lemal; sister-in-law, Melanie (Dennis) Lattocha; several nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, safe social distancing guidelines, including masks, is recommended. Visitation will be held at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rich Lemal officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
