Robert William "Bob" Bonnell, age 54, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Friday, August 29, 2003 at his home. He was born April 3, 1949 at Wheeling, WV, son of Nora Mae "Betty" Conaway Bonnell and the late Robert Bonnell.
He was a former sales manager of Radio Shack at Benwood and Warwood; a former certified nurses aide for the former Star Nursing Home at Morristown and graduate of the Career Academy of Broadcasting in Columbus. Bob was a member of First Presbyterian Church at Wheeling. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1968 to 1977; a Past Commander and Chaplin of the American Legion Post 227 at Bridgeport and for the Belmont County Council of American Legions. He was Past Commander of the DAV Chapter 121 at Barnesville and for the Eighth District DAV; and former coach of the Bridgeport Legion Baseball Team.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Nora Mae "Betty" Bonnell of St. Clairsville are his wife, Kathleen Hess Bonnell; a daughter, Kimberly Maye Lowe and husband Greg of Reynoldsburg, OH; a son, James Michael of Clintonville, OH; a special granddaughter, Audrey Elaine Lowe; a brother, Kenneth L. and his wife Judy of St. Clairsville; and two nieces Kristen and Jennifer; and mother-in-law, Elaine Hess Stewart.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Monday, September 1, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 6 until time of services at 8 p.m. Military Services will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of American Legions at 6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
