Robert E. "Apple" Applegarth, 62, of Belmont, Ohio rode up to the spirit in the sky on June 11, 2016.
He was born September 15, 1953 in Stuttgart, Germany, the son of Fredrick and Mariza Stingl Applegarth.
Apple loved riding his Harley, spending time with his family and friends, and helping with the Bikers Helping Bikers poker runs.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mariza (Ciley) Munas.
In addition to his parents, Apple is survived by his wife, Marilyn "Doll" Applegarth; daughter, Dr. Amanda (Lance) Fisher; son, Dylan (Morgenna Zuby) Applegarth; two special nephews, Todd Taylor and Mike Mead II who he called his first two kids; several other nieces and nephews.
Apple was a kind and gentle soul, but yet was a force to be reckoned with if need be.
Many others grew up calling him Dad. He was a good listener, a great advice giver, taxi driver to practices and games, and a broad shoulder to cry on. He was there for all.
Apple was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild, Luke, and now in addition to the list of being a loving husband, father and friend, guardian angel can be added too.
Most others would have been bitter with a life like Apple was dealt, but yet he never complained, always saying "there is someone else out there, worse off than me."
With that wonderful and generous spirit, Apple has donated his body to further the study of, and hopefully find a cure for others with Multiple Sclerosis.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 or at www.nationalmssociety.org
Toothman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
