Rita C. Smith, 75, of Fairpoint, Ohio, died at her home on November 9, 2024.

She was born July 30, 1949, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Stanley F. Stando and Blanche Alice Harenza Stando.

Rita was a retired social worker from the Belmont County Community Action Committee. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the former St. Joseph's Church in Fairpoint. Rita was a member of the Fairpoint Polish Club and enjoyed watching St. Clairsville and Notre Dame football. She also loved cooking and especially baking for her family.

Rita is survived by her husband, Eric T. Smith; two children, Kate (Ross) Subasic and Jacob (Melissa) Smith; three grandchildren, Claire and Jack Subasic and Nathan Smith; a step granddaughter, Morgan (Todd) Bevan; two sisters, Karen Dingey and Judith (Irv) Cilles; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville for a memorial visitation on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:30 p.m. with Father Thomas Chillog officiating.
