Planey, Rita Eileen, 83 of Stewartsville, Ohio died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Heartland-Lansing Nursing Home.

She was born at Bellaire, Ohio on September 23, 1926 a daughter of the late John and Alta Greenwood Shaver.

Rita was a homemaker, a catholic by faith and a member of the Bellaire Eagles Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Planey; a son, James Michael Planey; granddaughter, Becky Sabinsky; daughter-in-law, Becky Planey; sisters, Agnes Addison, Betty Major and Rose Mary Long; brothers, David, Paul, Dale and Fred Shaver and Anthony Boyle.

She is survived by her children, Karen (Jim) Howell of Stewartsville, Rick (Linda) Planey of Key, Rose (Chris) Wasko of Shadyside, Brenda (Bob) Gabel of Columbus, Ohio and Rita (Rick) Ofat of Bellaire; brothers Homer Shaver of Baltimore, MD and Charles Shaver of Landers, CA; a sister, Beverly (Pete) Christakis of St. Clairsville; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio on Tuesday from Noon to 8 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Glencoe Cemetery.
