Richard W. Verardi, 73, of Fairpoint, Ohio, died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital, with his family at his side. He was born August 2, 1932 in Fairpoint, son of the late Arthur and Theresa Vickey Verardi.
Richard was a retired office manager from Carson?s Auto Parts in Cadiz. He was the Clerk for Wheeling Township for 22 years. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Fairpoint. Richard was a graduate from St. Clairsville High School in 1950; he was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War; and he was a member of the Polish American Political Club in Fairpoint.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two sisters, Angeline Cervelli and Joan Stufflebeam; and a brother, Carl Verardi.
Surviving are his wife, Deanna L. Kubica Verardi; three children, Darlene (Henry) Kolodziej, Richard L. (Sharon) Verardi and Diane (Brent) Pinkston all of Fairpoint; six grandchildren, Allison and Stephanie Kolodziej, Kayla and Devin Verardi, Darian and Carina Pinkston; four brothers, Frank Verardi of Yuba City, California, Joe Verardi of St. Clairsville, Charles Verardi of Streetsboro, Ohio and Fred Verardi of St. Cloud, Florida; and a sister, Alice Verardi of Streetsboro, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Fairpoint on Wednesday at 10 a.m., with Fr. Thomas Graven and Fr. Dennis Lyden as celebrants. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville. A Vigil Service will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
