Richard Allen Sykes, Sr., 64 of Morristown, Ohio died Monday, March 21, 2005 at his home.
He was born June 25, 1940 in Bellaire. A son of the late Oscar and Grace Sykes.
He was a former employee of Consolidation Coal Co. in Cadiz and Coronet Foods in Wheeling. A Catholic and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernardine R. Hudak Sykes; a son, Michael Scott Sykes; a grandson, David Michael Wilson II; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Kiss.
Surviving are six children, Richard A. Sykes, Jr. of Lafferty, Barbara J. Stewart of Flushing, Roger A. Sykes of Bethesda, Brian S. Sykes of Quaker City, Rebecca L. Templeton of Wheeling, and Melissa J. Sykes of Morristown; 11 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; brothers and sisters-in law, Elizabeth (Leonard) Snedeker and Mary (Greg) Bowser of St. Clairsville, Fred Hudak of Florida, John "Dan" (Dot) Hudock of St. Clairsville, Stephen (Mary) Hudak of Toledo, Michael (Jane) Hudak of Brunswick, Anthony (Diane) Hudak of Lafferty, Edward (Karen) Hudak of Bethesda, and Joe Kiss of Martins Ferry.
There will be no visitation. A private interment service will be held at the convenience of the family.
