Richard Lee Grimes, 63 of ResCare's Pineview 2 Group Home in Belmont, Ohio died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at his home.

He was born July 2, 1951 in Canton, Ohio, A son of the late Clayton Willard Grimes and Mary Ann Baker Grimes.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Buganti.

Surviving are his sister, Jane Kirkpatrick of Bloomingdale, Ohio; he is also survived by and has remained in close contact with his aunt, Nina Baker of Bergholz, Ohio and his step-mother, Shirley Grimes of Martins Ferry, Ohio.

Richard had a strong personality and many things he enjoyed in his life. He regularly attended Camp Echoing Hills and looked forward to this every summer. He enjoyed Steeler's Football and Pirate's Baseball and attended games as long as his health permitted. He worked at Belco Works Workshop and recently began attending Tomorrows Corner Day Program. He had many, many friends from his years at work and the various activities he enjoyed.

Richard's health and abilities had changed greatly over the years but he still remained interested in his favorite activities including his very favorite, his hand held poker game. He looked forward to playing his game every day whenever he had any spare time. His friends and family spent much time finding him games as he wore them out and he had only a few particular ones that he liked.

Richard will be greatly missed by his family, his friends and house-mates from the Pineview 2 Group Home and the many people he touched over the years.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
