Richard A. "D.D." Dingey, 82, of Barton, Ohio died April 26, 2021 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born February 15, 1939 in Midway, Ohio, a son of the late Darl Elijah Dingey and Mary Drosky Dingey.
Rich was a retired state mine inspector and former employee of Consolidation Coal Co. He was a member of the Martins Ferry Elks, the Fairpoint Polish Club and the PNA Lodge #455 in Maynard. D.D. was an avid bowler, golfer, baseball, and softball player. His recent interests have included farming, logging, and taking care of stray animals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Dingey; sister, Lucille Skrtich; and his other parents, Blanche and Stanley Stando.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Stando Dingey; a son, Jason A. (Melissa) Dingey; a granddaughter, Emma Blanche Dingey; a sister, Joyce Kubica Ferrell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rita (Eric) Smith, Judy (Irv) Cilles; nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, social distancing and facial coverings are required during the visitation on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
