CATTANE, Richard S. Dago, 81, of Maynard, Ohio, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Forest Hill Nursing Home. He was born September 27, 1929 in Maynard, a son of the late, David E. and Eva Stromsky Cattane.
Dago was a retired foreman from the Chessie System B. & O. Railroad. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard; a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War; a member of Maynard American Legion Post 666; a member of Maynard Sportsmans Club and the Fairpoint Polish Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eugene A. Cattane.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl F. Kowalski Cattane; his children, Bernadette Bonnie (Bruce) Sloan of Maynard, David Cattane of Maynard; Brenda (Kevin) Ballog of Centerburg, Ohio and Bernice (Greg) Koontz of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Velma Donley of Akron, Ohio and Jennie Jozwiak of Springboro, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville with a Vigil Service at 3 p.m. followed by Full Military Honor Services at 3:15 p.m. by the Belmont County Council of American Legions.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church in Maynard with Father Thomas Graven as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
