Richard Lee Burghy, 90, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home.

He was born October 2, 1927 in St. Clairsville, a son of the late John Burghy and Anna Mushinski Burghy.

Richard was a retired surveyor and draftsman for Valley Camp Coal Company, an Army Air Corps veteran, a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville and American Legion Post 159 in St. Clairsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Burghy; a brother, David Burghy.

Surviving are his wife, Beulah Marie Christy Burghy; two children, John (Patricia) Burghy of St. Clairsville and Mary (Dr. Joseph) DePalma of St. Clairsville; five grandchildren, Lindsey (Ryan) Yanok, Jayme (Justin) Dillon, Cara (Matthew) Michaux, Jenny (Kellen) Petrone, and Joseph DePalma; four great grandchildren, Rylynn Yanok, Asher Yanok, Kylee Dillon, and Audrey Michaux.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 3 to 5 & 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Adam Davis officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 159 or St. Clairsville Public Library.

Military honors will be provided by the Belmont County Veterans Association at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
