Richard D. Barker's Obituary
Richard D. "Quack" Barker, 89, of Flushing, OH passed peacefully on May 16, 2015.
He was born January 31, 1926 in Holloway, OH the third son of Harold and Alice Bethel Barker.
Richard enjoyed and excelled in all sports. He liked music and played the trumpet. Richard retired from B & O Railroad in 1985. He was a member of the Flushing United Methodist Church, the Cadiz Country Club and St. Clairsville American Legion Post 159.
Richard is survived by his wife of 66 years, N. Jane Ballog Barker of Flushing; a son, James "Mick" Barker of Malvern, OH; a daughter, Lois (Ken) Schroeder of Rapid City, SD; a granddaughter, Lisa (Dr. Brent) Reich of Billings, MT; a great-granddaughter, Liv Reich (11) of Billings, MT; a brother, Gene "Boone" Margene Barker of Galloway, OH; four sisters, June Curtis of Greensboro, NC, Karen Helter of Lebanon, OH, Sandra Vina of Burbank, CA and Beverly Hager of Newark, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Daniel O. & Rosina (Cropp) Bethel; two infant brothers, and his brother, Vernon (Popeye) Barker; two sisters, Barbara Bernosky and Patricia Calovini-Diab.
At Richard's request, services will be private for immediate family.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Flushing United Methodist Church, 109 Wood St., Flushing, OH 43977.
