Richard Allan "Whitey" Swoyer, 69 of Key, Ohio died Monday, March 13, 2017 at Aspinwall VA Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born January 24, 1948 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Edward Harvey Swoyer and Edna Belle Jones Swoyer.
Whitey was a retired truck driver, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Glencoe American Legion, Life member of DAV in Bellaire, life member of Purple Heart, member of Shadyside Lodge # 724 F&AM, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons Bellaire Chapter # 107, Grand Council of Royal & Select Masons Bellaire Council # 87, and Hope Commandery # 26 Knights Templar in Shadyside.
Surviving is his wife, Cissy Brandon Swoyer.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday at 12 p.m. at Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio with Pastor Larry Helms officiating.
Belmont County Veterans Association will provide full military honors and Shadyside Lodge # 724 F&AM will conduct Masonic Funeral Rites.
Memorial contributions may be made to aid Veterans with Alzheimers, Aspinwall VA Hospital, Bldg. 50 Ground South, 1010 Delafield Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15215.
