Fankhauser, Ralph E. "Hound Dog", 78 of Dilles Bottom, Ohio expired September 24, 2009.

He was born May 4, 1931 in Powhatan Point, Ohio a son of the late Clifford and Lulu Bauer Fankhauser.

He was a member of St. John?s Church of Christ on German Ridge, Powhatan Point. Ralph accepted the Lord as his savior in his life on October 19, 2003 while visiting his son Jim in North Carolina.

Ralph was a retired outside electrical worker with IBEW Local #141 in Wheeling. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years as a corporal medic during the Korean War and was a member of Powhatan Point American Legion Post #228 serving as Commander for 7 years. He also was a life member of Powhatan V.F.W. Post #5565.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gene Ramsay.

Surviving are his wife, Bernadine M. (Neff) Fankhauser; 3 sons and 1 daughter, Jim (Rita) Fankhauser of Kernersville, NC; Bob (Lynne) Ramsay of Miami, FL; Susan (Randy) Freeman of Ft. Worth, TX and Michael (Kenda) Ramsay of Powhatan Point, OH; a brother, Elwood (Gertrude) Fankhauser of Jacobsburg, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, OH where services will be officiated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. by Rev. Ray Benesh. Burial will follow in the Powhatan Cemetery with full military honors by the Powhatan Veteran?s Honor Guard.
