Phyllis Jean Landkrohn Visnic, 85, of Shadyside, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Liza's Place in Wheeling, West Virginia.
She was born July 12, 1937, in Bellaire, Ohio, daughter of the late Ethel Kreiter Landkrohn and Wilbur Henry Landkrohn.
Phyllis retired from Shadyside High School where she worked in the treasurer's office for over 35 years. She was familiar to many in Shadyside having worked for several years in the ticket booth for Shadyside Tiger athletic events. Affectionately known as "Foot" by her grandchildren, neighbors and friends, a name she was given by one of her grandkids. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her friends at her monthly card club, weekly bowling nights and loved listening to country music. She had attended Jamboree In The Hills for 42 straight years of the event's existence. Phyllis and her husband Mick were often seen on their front porch swing waving to all who honked as they drove by. Phyllis was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shadyside.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Mildred Landkrohn Owens; her husband, John C. "Mick" Visnic; and her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Harry McGee.
Surviving are her two children, Carole Ann (John) Poch of Shadyside and Jon Richard (Sarah) Visnic of Snowmass, CO; four grandchildren, Jaime Lyn (Jim) Siburt, Jason Lee (Ashley) Helms, Nyla Visnic, Opal Visnic; three great grandchildren, Austin Siburt, James Siburt and Daniel Lee Helms.
Private services will be held at the convenience of her family with burial in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH and Pastor Joel Traylor officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Liza's Place of Valley Hospice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
