Phyllis Jean McKay, 85, of Lancaster, Ohio formerly of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at her home.  She was born January 16, 1938 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of the late Charles and Florence Clymans Kite.

Phyllis was a 1959 graduate of the Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing.  She retired from the former Oak View Nursing Home where she was Director of Nursing.  She was a leader in the Girl Scouts and TOPS organization.   She was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church in Steubenville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike McKay in 2016; an infant son, Michael Charles McKay; a brother, Charles S. Kite.

Surviving are three daughters, Michele (Gregory) Michaels of Lancaster, Sandy (George) Paris of Pataskala, Ohio and Kathy (John) Cocuzza of Ashville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Anthony Cocuzza, Nicole Cocuzza, Courtney Cocuzza and Christopher Paris; sister-in-law, Gil Kite.

Family and friends will be received on Monday February 27th from 4-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville where funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 28th at 11 am with v REV Stavrophor Rajko Kosic officiating.  Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery.
