Phyllis Jean Hendershot, 84, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, in St. Clairsville.  She was born August 29,1939, in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of the late Albert B. and Beatrice L. Brown Johnson, Sr.

Phyllis was retired from the St. Clairsville Clinic Business Office and a life member of Bellaire High School class of 1958 and a Lioness member of the former St. Clairsville Lions Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Hendershot; sons, James Benda and Todd Benda and an infant son; grandsons, Zachary and Todd Benda; brothers, Charles Johnson, Howard "Dave" Johnson, Albert Johnson, Jr., and William "Billy" Johnson; sisters, Beverly Hrdlicka and Nancy Reed.

Surviving are her children, Terri (Dave) Leadenham of Virginia Beach, Virginia Cathy (Brian) DaRe of Rayland, Ohio, Rusty (Lori) Hendershot of St. Clairsville, David (Sandee) Hendershot of Moundsville, West Virginia, Nancy (Greg) Johnson of Bellaire, Michael (Mary) Hendershot of St. Clairsville, Jody Hendershot of Bethesda, Ohio, Scott Hendershot of St. Clairsville; as well as many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; Sister-in-laws Diane Johnson and Tessi Johnson; Brother-in-law Herb Hrdlicka.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 pm until time of funeral services at 7 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with Minister Stacey Agnew officiating.  Final arrangements at the convenience of the family.
