Peter Kushnir, Jr. of Zanesville, Ohio died Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville.  He was born June 26, 1949 in Augsburg, Germany, a son of Nina Loginov Kushnir and the late Peter Kushnir, Sr.

Peter was a retired Major in the U.S. Army, and was a GS13 teaching at Fort Lee in Petersburg, Virginia and a Russian Orthodox.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Maloney and Valerie Miranda.

Surviving are his mother, Nina Loginov Kushnir of Coram, New York; his wife, Kathryn L. West Kushnir; a daughter, Rachel Kathryn (Kevin) Coward all of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Korbin Coward of North Carolina and Kira Coward of Zanesville.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are required.

Private services to be held on Wednesday from 12 pm until time of Funeral Service at 2 pm at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio with the Very Reverend Michael Kabel officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, Barton, Ohio.
