Pete was a retired coal miner from Windsor Coal and former employee of North American Coal # 6 mine and member of UMWA Local 6362/1810.  He was a member of South Bellaire United Methodist Church.  Pete was a kind, caring loving man who would help anyone in need and was known as the "Fix it Man".  He enjoyed cornhole, pool, scratch-off lottery tickets, euchre, horseshoes, hunting, fishing, sitting on his front porch, visiting with people, and playing board games with his granddaughters.

He loved camping at Barkcamp and Tappan Lake, vacationing at Myrtle Beach. Pete enjoyed traveling to flea markets, antique shows, bottle shows, and car shows with his nephew, John (Non) Leonard. He collected bottles, antiques, and Imperial glassware. Pete was a man of many nicknames including: Donnie, Big Pete, Pistol Pete, Peter Gun, Skidrow, Root, Punkin, Little Donnie, but his favorite of all was dad and pappy.  One of his most memorable moments was when he took his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Dolores Burkhart to visit the Naval Ship that Sam had served on which was the USS New Jersey in Camden, NJ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paula, sister-in-law, Molly Leonard and brother-in-law, Mark Rose.
