Pearl Naomi Mort, 93 of Uniontown, Ohio, died Friday, September 3, 2004 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry.
She was born at Lafferty, Ohio on March 21, 1911 a daughter of the late Roy Bennington and Flora Baker Bennington.
Pearl was a former employee of Star Nursing Home in Morristown, a homemaker and a member of the Harbor of Hope Assembly of God at St. Clairsville, Ohio.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Earl Mort; a daughter, Dixie Simmons; and a son, Douglas E. "Jim" Mort, Jr; two grandsons, Brad Huntsman and Randy Ornouski; two sisters, Belinda Derby and Virginia Finchum; five brothers, Alvin, Vernon, Willard, Walter and Richard Bennington; and four great grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters, Gloria McCreary of Mineral City, Ohio, Donna Rae Huntsman of Lloydsville, Ohio, Patricia A. Cook of Uniontown, Ohio and Judy Nation of Flushing, Ohio; three sons, Roger L. Mort of Bridgeport, Ohio, Patrick D. Mort of Bethesda, Ohio and John P. Mort of Uniontown, Ohio; 27 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, where services will be held Monday, September 6, 2004 at 1 p.m., with Pastor Neil McFarland officiating. Burial follows at Unity Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio.
