Obituary
Paul Carmel Mercer, Sr., 72 of Holloway, Ohio died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.
He was born March 13, 1944 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Lester L. Mercer and Laura Meyers Mercer.
Paul was a retired truck driver and member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Flushing.
He loved his grandchildren, telling stories, playing bingo, circle the word games, and John Wayne movies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Mercer.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Hollingsworth Mercer; three children, P.J. Mercer of Cadiz, Denise (Dave) Gray of Bethesda, and Brian Mercer of Flushing; three brothers; three sisters; six grandchildren, Paul Mercer III, Donald William Mercer, Nicholas Gray, Jacob Gray, Allison Gray, and Dakota Mercer; a great grandson, Brody Mercer.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dean Lancaster officiating.
Burial follows in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing, Ohio.
