Paul R. Marx, age 75, a resident of St. Clairsville for 14 years and former resident of Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born May 3, 1928 at Martins Ferry, son of the late Christy and Ethel McGlumphy Marx.
He was a retired self-employed mine equipment salesman. Paul was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of Ohio City Lodge # 486 F. & A.M. at Martins Ferry; the American Legion Post # 159 at St. Clairsville; and a life member of the VFW Post 5356 at St. Clairsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Monteleone Marx; and several cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Don Cordery and Rev. Thomas Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio. The Belmont County Council of American Legions will have services on Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home and Masonic services will be held on Monday at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
