Paul James Elerick, 89 of Bannock, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 21 2016 at Cumberland Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
He was born May 8, 1926 in Bannock, Ohio, a son of the late James Edward Elerick and Lizzie Lendon Elerick.
Paul was a retired coal miner from Marietta Coal Company, a former Wheeling Township Trustee for 12 years and member of PERI.
Paul took pride in his many years of grass cutting and maintenance of Plainfield and Unity Cemeteries.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Luke Elerick, three grandchildren, Sherry Lee, Marie, and Spencer Elerick; a great grandson, Bronson Carter; sisters, Elizabeth "Babe" Dikant and Eunice Donner; brothers, Wayne and Vearl Elerick.
Surviving are his wife, Letha Morgan Elerick; three children, Barbara Jones of Wooster, Ohio, Paul L. "Butch" (Leona) Elerick of St. Clairsville, and Greg (Lou Ann) Elerick of Darnstown, MD; seven grandchildren, Christal Miller, James Elerick, Sarah Carter, John Elerick, Matthew Elerick, Lisa Elerick, and Riley Elerick; six great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. with Brother Dan Ponzani and Brother Mark Balcar officiating.
Burial follows in Unity Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio.
