Orville Allen "Blackie" Blackmore, Sr., 88 of Lansing, Ohio died Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV.
He was born March 5, 1930 in Middletown, Ohio, a son of the late William Dennis Blackmore and Mildred Schuyler Blackmore.
Orville was a retired employee of Dover Elevator Company and a member of the St. Clairsville and Elm Grove Christian Churches, a member of the St. Clairsville Ruritan, past president of the Belmont County Fair Board, and member of Barb's Boys and Brothers In Song choral groups.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred "Millie" Carr Blackmore; a son, Richard Blackmore; brothers, Gerald, Phillip, and Wayne Blackmore; sister, Lorna Sorrell.
Surviving are his children, Orville A. Blackmore, Jr. of Wheeling, WV, John Lynn Blackmore of Chillicothe, OH, Bonnie Sue Musgrave of Essex, VT, and Bruce Edward Blackmore of Columbus, OH; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Blackmore of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Carol Ann Kidwell of Delaware, Doris Robinson of Middletown, Ohio, and Mildred Bustillos of El Paso, Texas.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Henry Lewis officiating.
Burial follows in Linwood Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio.
