Woodford, Oliver T. Sr., 83, of St. Clairsville, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Ohio Valley Medical Center.
He was born January 23, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, son of the late Larry and Mamie Milhoan Woodford.
Oliver was a retired coal miner from Consolidation Coal Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as an oil tank driver and guard; he was a member of the VFW Post # 8848 in Colerain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Jefferies on Nov. 25, 2007; and a brother, Larry Woodford.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Annabelle Higgins Woodford; four sons, Thomas (Carol) Woodford of Harrisville, Gary Woodford, Charles (Norma) Woodford and Oliver (Donna) Woodford Jr. all of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Pauline Denger of Mt. Pleasant and Mary Lou Boder of Florence; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Dr. Bradley Call officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
Belmont County Council of VFW?s will conduct services at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
