Nora Mae "Betty" Conaway Bonnell, 96, of St. Clairsville, Ohio entered into the peace and joy of our Lord Jesus Christ on December 2, 2018 at Park Health Center.

She was born on September 2, 1922, in Bellaire, Ohio, the daughter of the late Delbert and Sarah Snyder and considered her dear grandmother and guardian, Nora V. Conaway, to be her second mother.

Nora was a 1940 graduate of Martins Ferry High School. She was a former employee of Martins Ferry Hospital, G.C. Murphy Company, Stone and Thomas Dept. Store, Secretary for the Osiris Shrine Temple and retired in 1989 after serving as Secretary to the Mayor of St. Clairsville.

A member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Nora was also a former member of the St. Clairsville Chapter 510 Order of Eastern Star and the El Tor Grotto Ladies Auxiliary of Wheeling.

In addition to her parents and grandmother Nora, she was preceded in death by her precious husband Robert Bonnell, son Robert W. Bonnell, Alberta "Aunt Mae" Beech, sisters Mary Rozell and Virginia Dickerson, brother William D. Snyder, a dear cousin Jody Conaway, and her faithful and loving pet and companion, Susie.

Betty is survived by her loving son, Kenneth L. (Judy) Bonnell and daughter-in-law Kathy Bonnell of St. Clairsville; grandchildren Kimberly M. Lowe, St. Clairsville, James M. Bonnell, Marysville Oh, Kristin (Gregg) Elzey, Dallas Tx, and Jennifer (Paul) McBride, Pickerington Oh; great-grandchildren Audrey Lowe, Kaylee and Isabella Bonnell, Kassidy, Gracelyn and Grady Elzey.

Friends will be received to celebrate her wonderful life on Friday, December 7 from 4-8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.

Visitation will again be held Saturday, December 8 at Calvary Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Terry Lucarelli officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
