THOMAS, Morris, 87, of Flushing, Ohio died Sunday, January 08, 2012 in Cumberland Point Care Center, St. Clairsville.
He was born October 18, 1924 in Shadyside, Ohio, son of the late John and Emma Belcher Thomas.
Morris was a retired employee from Wheeling-Woodsfield-Barnesville Express. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Bannock United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 159 in St. Clairsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, Ralph and Bill Thomas.
Surviving are his loving wife, Betty Lou Hughes Thomas; a son, Rodney W, (Marlena) Thomas of St. Clairsville; two daughters, Crystal (Denver) Hoops and Connie (Steven) Lohr both of Flushing; 9 grandchildren, Ronald Hoops, Krista McAffee, Stacey Roth; Kayla Thomas, Ashley Williams, Cory Myers, Taylor Myers, Bailey Lohr and Sidney Lohr; 8 great grandchildren, Nickolas Hoops, Reagan McAfee, Austin McAfee, Stephen Hoops, Silas Hoops, Sarah Hoops, Connor Roth and Olivia Williams.
Family and friends will be received on Monday from 6 – 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Wednesday at Noon, with Pastor Wilbur Thurman Bragg officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of American Legions on Wednesday at Noon in the funeral home.
