Minnie F. Scales, 84 of Shadyside, Ohio formerly of Key died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She was born June 14, 1924 in Bellaire, a daughter of the late Frank Goldsmith and Velma Pierson Goldsmith.
She was a retired surgical technician from Wheeling Hospital, a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.
Minnie was a loving mother and grandmother, and truly one of a kind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Laverne "Leg" Scales; sisters, Ellen Weekly and Velma Katherine Archer; a grandson, Clinton D. Montgomery.
Surviving are two sons, Jodia (Eve) Scales of Killingworth, CT., and Jan M. (Debbie) Scales of Findlay, Ohio; two daughters, Reba (Michael) Mathias of Pittsburgh and Marla (Charlie) Montgomery of Williamstown, WV.; a sister, Eileen Pinter of Alberta, AL.; a brother, Thomas Goldsmith of Bakersfield, CA.; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Pete Walburn officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
