Obituary

PORTER, Milton Elisha "Buddy", 84 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.

He was born June 25, 1927 in Bridgeport, Ohio, a son of the late Frank Porter and Hilda Peyton Porter.

He was a retired U.S. Postal worker from the St. Clairsville Post Office, a former Richland Township Trustee, a member of Brookside Church of God, and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson Porter; sisters, May Rodella Porter, Rose Britt, and Ora Grace VanFossen.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene (Reese) Porter; a sister, Hilda Chuckery of Blaine; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Milton's nephew, Rev. Robert VanFossen and Rev. Thomas Tennant officiating.

Burial follows in Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.

PNA services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Barton Volunteer Fire Department will conduct services at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Belmont County Council of American Legions will provide full military honors on Thursday at 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home.
