Mileva Bayat, 93 of Overbaugh Avenue, St. Clairsville died Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville.
She was born at Stolac, Yugoslavia on June 2, 1910 a daughter of the late Nickola and Mitra Jovacevich Hamovic.
Mileva came to America from Yugoslavia in 1936. She was a home maker, a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church at Steubenville, St. Clairsville Senior Citizens and SNF Lodge #21.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vido Bayat.
Surviving are a daughter, Ksenia Davis of Washington, D.C.; sons, Branko Bayat of St. Clairsville; Nick Bayat of Bethel Park, PA and Ted Bayat of Lancaster, OH, a sister, Rada of Bosnia; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 from 4 to 8 p.m. with Pomen services set for 4 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, St.Clairsville the Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2003 in the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Rade Merick officiating. Burial follows at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
