Mildred L. "Midge" Bailey Steele of St. Clairsville formerly of Martinsburg, Ohio died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Forest Hill Care Center in St. Clairsville.

She was born in Richwood, West Virginia on September 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Perry and Pearl Bailey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean W. Steele in 1993; a son, Ralph in 1981; six brothers, Lawrence "Tonnie". Loyal, Bernard, Cyrus, and infants, Basil and Vergil; a sister, Ruby E. Hanes.

Surviving are two sisters, Virginia Angus of St. Clairsville and Lucille Fisher of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Millie Turnbaugh (Jerry) of Newark, Ohio, Ralph Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Michael and Shelly of Florida; two step grandsons, Terry Steele (Cheryl) of Westerville, Ohio and Kevin Steele (Sharon) of Statesville, North Carolina; ; 12 great grandchildren including Jake and Josh Steele of Westerville, Ohio, 3 great great grandchildren; several dearly loved nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Nicky, her companion for 14 years; dear friend Alberta Willis.

Services were held at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville on Sunday, January 30, 2005 with Rev. Richard Mehl officiating. She was laid to rest in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio.
