Mildred Delores "Millie" Blackmore, 80 of Lansing, Ohio died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Forest Hill Retirement Community in St. Clairsville after a long struggle with her illness.
She was born May 15, 1929 in Hamilton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clarence Carr and Bessie Matilda Hicks Carr.
Millie was a former employee of LS Good & Co. in Wheeling and Sears Roebuck & Co. at the Ohio Valley Mall, she was a member of the St. Clairsville Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Blackmore; brothers, Walter, Lewis, and Homer Carr.
Surviving are her husband, Orville A. Blackmore, Sr.; children, Orville A. Blackmore, Jr. of Wheeling, WV., John Lynn Blackmore of Chillicothe, Ohio, Bonnie Musgrave of Essex, VT., and Bruce Edward Blackmore of Columbus, Ohio; four brothers, Wayne, George, Ira, and Eugene Carr; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Curtis Hallstrom officiating. Burial follows in Linwood Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio.
