Mildred E. "Mid" Green, 96, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died April 6, 2017 in Shadyside Care Center.
She was born near Jacobsburg, Ohio on May 30, 1920, daughter of the late Raymond Abel and Sarah Edith Fox Abel.
Mid was a retired employee of Elder Beerman having worked through age 84. She was a former sales associate with L.S. Good and Stone and Thomas. She was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church where she was very active and a member of the United Methodist Women. Mid was a member of former Bridgeport Chapter #452 Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Red Hat Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Green; a sister, Dorothy Trimble; a brother, William Abel; and a great grandson, Adam Kazmirski.
Surviving are son, Jim (Georgianna) Green of Powhatan Point, Ohio; a daughter, Martha (Larry) Kazmirski of St. Clairsville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Greg (Lisa) Kazmirski, Michael (Lisa) Kazmirski, James Green and Kelly (Mike) Krock; eight great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Thoburn United Methodist Church Building Fund or the House of the Carpenter.
