Mildred Imogene Donley, 89, passed December 17, 2017, peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born June 28, 1928 in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Youngest of five daughters of the late William Rufus Brown and Anna May (Cook) Brown.
She was a kind and loving woman, who kept her family close and grounded. She also was "Mom" to anyone who needed one. She was lovingly referred to as Mom, Honey, Tom, Tommie, Aunt Tom, Millie, Miss Mildred, Mrs. D, Grandma, Grandma-ma, and Great Grandma Donley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Edward Donley, her son Edward Thomas Donley. Sisters, Virginia Harper, Lucille Gossett, and Ruth Edgar.
She is survived by her children, Paula (Joseph) Planey, Tamra (Dean) Baker, Scott Donley, Wendy (Robert) Gary, daughter-in law Pattie Donley and sister Betty Pickenpaugh. She has seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her special friend, Mary Ellen Ontko.
She retired as head of household at the Belmont County Courthouse, where she took great pride in her work and her community. She shared her love with her beloved dog, Abby and an ornery cat, Bad Boy.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. where Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Adam Davis officiating. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
