Milan Matesick, 95, of Powhatan Point, Ohio passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Country Club Retirement Campus, Bellaire, Ohio. He was born December 7, 1930 in Powhatan Point, a son of the late Nicholas and Helen Markovich Matesick.

Milan was a retired employee of the former Ormet Corporation with 30 years of service. He proudly served our country during the Korean War and was involved in three major battles.

Milan was a member of Amity United Methodist Church, Powhatan VFW Post #5565 and was active in the Powhatan Honor Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Matesick and Nicholas Matesick; two sisters, Ann Korner and Barbara Mitchell; a son-in-law, Michael Ritz.

Surviving are his wife, Carole Goudy Matesick of Powhatan Point; two children, Melanie Ritz of Shadyside, Ohio and Todd Matesick of Powhatan Point; a grandson, Adam Bier; a sister, Mary “Cookie” Kriechbaum of Powhatan Point; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 10 am until time of funeral services at 1 pm at Amity United Methodist Church with Pastor Rusty Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery. Full Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the Powhatan Honor Guard.
