Michael J. "Hippie" Vargo, 62, of Adena, Ohio, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at OSU Wexner Medical Center.

He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on January 29, 1953, son of the late Alex Vargo and Edna Stopskie Vargo.

Hippie was a truck driver for Goff Trucking and a Catholic by faith. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Alex Vargo and Edna Vargo Godaway, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Butch Vargo.

Surviving are his wife, Barb Brandon Vargo; a son, Randy (Dawn) Homan of Glencoe; a daughter, Jamie Homan of St. Clairsville; a granddaughter who he adored, Jadyn Izabella; a sister; two nephews, David and Danny; a niece, Shirley; and many friends.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m., where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Dan Heusel officiating. Burial will follow in Glencoe Cemetery.
