DOPKISS, Melinda Ann, 50, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on May 19, 1962, daughter of Gerald G. and Nancy A. Chuckery Dopkiss.
Melinda was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was a retired Deputy Warden from London Correctional Institution in London, Ohio. She was a 1980 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and a member of East Richland Friends Church.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Nellie and Stanley Chuckery and paternal grandparents, Alma and Frank Dopkiss.
Surviving are her parents, Nancy and Gerald Dopkiss of St. Clairsville; her son, Ryan E. Cox of Grove City, Ohio; a brother, Gerald Alan (Kelly) Dopkiss of Maynard; nephews, Gerald III and Zachary Dopkiss; beloved pet, Snickers; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from Noon until time of Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Private interment will be in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities in Wheeling or the charity of the donor's choice.
