Mary Catherine Vicker Scypta, 88 of St. Clairsville was called to be with her maker on Wednesday, March 16, 2005. She is now reunited with her loving husband of 67 years, Bruney and her two sons: infant Ronald and a stillborn son. Bruney died in January 2004.
She was born in Maynard, Ohio the youngest child of Peter and Anna Guzik Vicker.
Mary was a loyal member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville and also a member of the PNA of Maynard. She and Bruney were avid bridge players and bowlers. She looked forward to her time spent with her loving family.
Her family includes daughter Elaine (Edwin) Delesk of Columbus, daughter Christine (Frank) Targoss of Wintersville and son Gary (Jill) Scypta of Plymouth, Michigan and her sister Helen Dundr of Dillonvale. Her extended family includes six grandchildren, two step granddaughters, eight great grandchildren and a special friend Mary Bisoski of Michigan.
In addition to her husband and sons she was preceded in death by brothers Stanley and his infant twin brother; Joseph and Frank Vicker. Her sisters included Bertha Chuckery, Sophie Oboy and Anna Dombroski.
The family will receive other family members and friends at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville on Friday March 18 from 2 to 7 p.m. There will be a PNA service at 3 p.m. and a brief vigil service at 6 p.m.
Mary?s life will be celebrated at Mass on Saturday March 19 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville. The family will receive friends and other family members at St. Mary's Church Hall immediately following.
