Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Ries, 86, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born February 9, 1931 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Burger.
Mary was a retired clerk from the Belmont County Western Division Court. She was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and member of the American Legion Post 159 in St. Clairsville. She was a member and Past Matron of the former Order of Eastern Star Chapter 510 in St. Clairsville and current Captina Chapter O.E.S. 489 and a member of Louis Wetzel Pistol and Rifle Range.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Ries; her daughter, Leah Ann Brown; brothers and a sister.
Surviving are her two daughters, Suzie Palmer of Dillonvale, Ohio and Lynn Worley of North Carolina; five grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV with Rev. Adam Davis officiating.
