Mary Jane McGilton, 81 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Bellaire, Ohio.
She was born June 1, 1934 in Jacobsburg, Ohio, a daughter of the late Murwood McMahon and Mary Ann Thornton McMahon.
She was a Methodist by faith, a member of Freeport Chapter No. 319 O.E.S., past president of the former St. Clairsville Lioness Club, past president of the Ohio Valley Promenaders, and member of St. Clairsville Lions Club.
She loved square dancing, crocheting and bunco.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. McGilton; brothers and sisters, Hazel Davis, Howard "Gabe" McMahon, Paul McMahon, Homer McMahon, and Rachael McMahon.
Surviving are four children, Allen (Mary Margaret) McGilton of St. Clairsville, Connie (Dave) Barries of Bethesda, Nancy (Dave) Orr of Belmont, and Doug McGilton of St. Clairsville; her fiancée Bill Wood; brothers and sisters, Sarah Traylenik, Victoria Cargnel, George McMahon, Wilma Myers, Russell McMahon, and Shirley Ware; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Henry Lewis officiating.
Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Freeport Chapter No 319 O.E.S will conduct services at 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
