Mary R. Kowalcyk, age 86, of Maynard, Ohio, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at her home.

She was born on September 28, 1920 in Maynard, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph Ludwig and Rose Sikora Ludwig.

Mary was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard; a member of the Catholic Women?s Club and the PNA # 455 at Maynard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Kowalcyk; a daughter, Rose Marie Kowalcyk; and three brothers, Joe, John and Walter Ludwig.

Surviving are two daughters, Joann Kokovich and her husband John of Cadiz and Barbara Hilling of Columbus; two sons, Walter F. "Bucky" Kowalcyk and his wife Sandy and Stanley "Buck" Kowalcyk and his wife Trudy all of Maynard; two brothers, Stanley Ludwig of Cadiz and Frank Ludwig of Dayton, Ohio; five sisters, Helen Klan of Maynard, Ann Day of Canton, Liz Cavender of St. Clairsville, Rose Yantz of Maynard and Alice Lachendro of Adena; five grandchildren, Christina Gdula, Angi Kokovich, Kim Kafana, Deana Hopper and Greg Hilling; and six great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 3 p.m. and a PNA Service at 3:15 p.m. followed by a Catholic Women's Club Service.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard on Wednesday at 10 a.m., with Father Thomas Graven the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church or the Maynard Community Volunteer Fire Department.
