Mary Ellen Yasenchak Horsfall, 91, of Canton, Ohio, died on January 5, 2026, at The Inn at Belden Village.
She was born in Barton, Ohio, on March 26, 1934, a daughter of the late Mike and Katherine Koval Yasenchak.
Mary Ellen retired as a telephone operator after 30 years and later worked at Walgreens for 20 years, finishing at age 85. She was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Barton.
Her family was most important to her, and she loved to take care of and spend time with them. As a grandmother, she loved spending time with the grandchildren and attending sporting events that they were involved in. Mary Ellen enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, watching the news and any time that tennis was on the television, she would be glued to the set.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Myers; her twin brother, John Raymond Yasenchak; and former husband, Leroy "Lee" Horsfall.
Mary Ellen is survived by her two daughters, Debra Kay (King) Hill of Solon, Ohio, and Carol Ann (Scot) Foster of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Molly Ann Reed, Olivia Kate Hill, Lee Scot (Monica) Foster, Mackenzie (Rachel) Foster; and great grandchildren, Natalee, Camden, Grace, Isla, and Brielle.
There will be a graveside service held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery in Barton, Ohio, with Father Michael Kabel officiating. A memorial dinner will follow at St. Nicholas Church in Barton.
Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
